Australian white south sea pearls are one of the most famous pearls in the world due to their unique silver lustre that reads pure white against all skin tones. They are grown from the Pinctada maxima oyster and get their hue from the silver lipped mother shell. These pearls are highly coveted and extremely valuable because the oysters only grow a single pearl per season. The season can take up to 8 years depending on the size of the pearl!
