Care instructions

Taking care of Gold

—-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To ensure your jewellery continues to look great, please follow these care instructions:

-       18K consists of 75% gold, whilst 14K consists of 58.5% gold. Gold is a soft metal, therefore, we recommend avoiding extreme exposure to heat as this may cause the jewellery to lose its shape.

-       To maintain the lustre and durability of your jewellery, avoid wearing it while showering, exercising or swimming.

-       Please put on cosmetics, lotions or perfumes and allow them to dry before wearing your gold jewellery as these products can cause jewellery to discolour

-       Jewellery should be removed before sleeping, exercising or undertaking any physical activity such as gardening or weightlifting or other heavy duty activities to avoid damaging

-       Jewellery should be stored separately from other jewellery to avoid scratching

-       Avoid exposure of jewellery to hairspray, perfumes or other chemicals such as chlorine as this may cause it to discolour due to a process called oxidation. Best procedure is to take off your jewellery if you are going to come into contact with water or any chemicals.

Taking care of Opals

Opals are one of the softer gemstones but with proper care, can last a lifetime. To ensure the life of your Opal please take care of it with our helpful suggestions:

•If there is a chance your Opal jewellery may be scratched for example, during housework, gardening and so forth please remove your jewellery

•If wearing an opal ring please keep in mind any hard surfaces which may scratch or damage the stone e.g. when knocking on doors

•Opals contain about 5-6% of water and may crack if exposed to very dry conditions or a dramatic change in temperature avoid wearing your Opals in these environments e.g. wearing opals in the

sauna or near steam

•For doublets or triplets, as they are layered Opals, avoid exposure to water including showering, swimming or washing hands as this can damage the stone

•When storing your Opal just place it in a pouch or padded box near a damp cloth so that your opal does not dry out or crack

•Clean the surface of your opal with a soft dry cloth without any chemicals

•Only solid opals should be wiped from time to time with water that is room temperature

Care instructions

Taking care of Pearl

With a little love and care, your Pearl can remain beautiful for many years to come. Please read the following suggestions for taking care of your Pearls:

• Very dry or hot conditions can damage Pearls so please avoid these environments e.g. do not place pearls on surfaces near heaters or air conditioners.

• Please put on cosmetics, lotions or perfumes and allow them to dry before wearing your pearl jewellery as these products can damage the surface lustre of the pearl. If wearing sunscreen, it is best not to wear your pearls as the sunscreen often rubs off onto the pearl unlike other skin creams.

• After wearing your pearls, wipe with a soft damp cloth to clean any traces of cosmetics. No chemicals or detergents are required just use lukewarm water.

• Due to a pearl's low hardness, please avoid storing them with other gemstones as they may scratch the surface of the pearl. As such do not wear pearl jewellery during heavy work and ensure they are kept away from contact with hard surfaces.

• With pearl strands, please have your jeweller restring your pearls occasionally, especially if you wear them often. Make sure they are knotted individually so that you do not lose all your pearls should the strand break.

• To ensure the continued life of the pearl it is best to take them off before showering or swimming as repeated exposure or submersion in water can loosen the setting.

• When removing your pearl ring, try to grasp it with the shank or the setting rather than the pearl.

Whether you’re looking for couple’s rings, wedding bands, or engagement rings, these are some of the gems that you can look forward to when shopping our collection:

  • Diamonds. These can be set against yellow, white, or rose gold. You will find wedding rings for both women and men featuring delicate designs such as the 18K Sommet rounded diamond ring or the classic curve diamond band. If, instead, you’re looking for a statement piece, consider the diamond ribbon ring or the yin yang diamond band. If your budget is less flexible, we stock the equally opulent moissanite engagement rings. Although they are more affordable than diamonds, they are second to them in durability and don’t scratch easily.

  • Australian opal rings in Sydney CBD. Did you know that these precious stones take 1.2 billion years to form and that 95% of the world’s opal production happens in Australia, 10% of these are black opal which is dark grey and has a complete rainbow colour spectrum. Variants of this gem include the boulder opal, extracted as a single piece from Northern Queensland, Quilpie, and Winton. White opal, instead, has a milky or translucent appearance, while the Welo or African/Ethiopian opal has distinctive markings that catch the light and shimmer.

  • Pearls have historically been highly valued as gemstones for many centuries, where the most valuable pearls occur naturally in the wild but these are extremely rare. These days most pearls are cultured. Some customers may ask for completely natural pearls that grow in the wild and aren’t touched by man. You may explain to the customer “Yes, these types of pearls exist, however they are very expensive. All of the pearls you see being sold today are all cultured. These are still natural pearls, they are still grown in oysters. What the divers will do is seed each oyster with a nucleus. This is the same as the natural process for an oyster in the wild, where a bit of irritant goes into the shell and the oyster produces nacre in many layers around it to protect itself from the irritant.” There are 5 different types of Pearls that we sell. Freshwater, Akoya, White Southsea Pearls, Golden Southsea Pearls, Tahitian Pearls These are the common shapes that you can find in pearls.

  • Precious stones. Besides rings, we offer other exceptional jewellery such as the old-world locket with emerald and mother of pearl, pendants such as the playfully posh treasure chest with ruby. You will also find pieces that can be beautifully paired, such as the multi-sapphire ring with the rainbow drop pendant. Alternatively, you can match our gemstone earrings with rings from our collection that include amethyst, aquamarine, blue topaz, citrine, garnet, moonstone, morganite, peridot, tanzanite, and tsavorite.

  • Custom designs. You have the option of expressing your creativity with us or recreating a piece you were inspired by where we help you create bespoke jewels. The simple process involves sharing your idea, collaborating with us to create a design, confirming a digital CAD drawing, and four-to-six-week production time. We also offer custom hand engraving, where you can engrave details into your jewellery such as dates and names, in a handwritten style.

  • After-sales service: To keep your piece in mint condition, we provide complimentary cleaning, ring polishing, and rhodium plating services. We can also resize and repair your ring and offer 24/7 customer care.

  • Accessibility. Our collection of opals is set as triplets (three natural layers, black onyx backing, and crystal cover) and doublets (two layers, opal layer set against a boulder opal ironstone), making them more economical.

  • Competitive pricing. We offer various payment options and FREE domestic shipping. You also won’t have to postpone your purchase due to cash constraints with our six-month layby facility, for which you need only pay a deposit of $50.
